Temperature
From the
Latin temperature , the temperature is a physical
quantitythat reflects the amount of heat , whether from a body, an
object or the environment. This magnitude is linked to the notion of cold (lower
temperature) and hot (higher temperature).
The
temperature is related to the internal energy of the thermodynamic
systems, according to the movement of their particles , and
quantifies the activity of the molecules of matter : the greater the
sensible energy, the more temperature.
The state ,
the solubility of matter and volume , among other issues,
depend on the temperature. In the case of water at normal atmospheric
pressure, if it is at a temperature lower than 0ºC, it will be shown in solid
state (frozen); if it appears at a temperature between 1ºC and 99ºC, it
will be in a liquid state; If the temperature is 100ºC or higher, finally,
the water will present a gaseous state (vapor).
The
temperature also allows to refer to the level of heat of the body of the human
being and fever : "My son is with temperature" can
be synonymous with "My son is with fever" .
The
temperature in medicine
Both in the
case of traditional and alternative medicine , the use of high
or low temperatures for various treatments is used by many professionals and
with a wide range of different objectives.
The thermal waters ,
for example, are appreciated for their anti-inflammatory and analgesic
effects; In addition, it is a natural resource that emerges from the
earth, either spontaneously or with the intervention of the human being . Although
its composition varies according to the characteristics of the region through
which it transits, it usually contains iron, iodine, fluorine and sodium, among
other minerals of great importance.
This method
of healing so popular worldwide, begins to act as soon as a person is submerged
in the water; the high temperature impacts immediately and the absorption
of the different minerals takes place through the skin. These are directed
to the subcutaneous cellular tissue and act in various ways
beneficial to the organism.
In addition
to the physical pleasure experienced during a thermal bath, numerous healing
actions take place, such as:
* the
stimulation of the defenses;
* the
purification of blood , since toxins and other wastes are expelled
through sweat;
* in
the case of suffering from rheumatism, we see a reactivation of the metabolism
and a reeducation of the system that regulates the temperature of the
body, a capacity that many rheumatics lose;
* analgesic
effects (one of its most known properties);
* a
muscular relaxation that allows to treat edemas and other affections of the
style, in addition to contractures and problems of the joints, toning and
reconstituting the nervous system.
The list of
benefits for the human being continues, and outside the treatment of diseases and
bone or muscle problems, one of its strengths is that it combats stress ,
typical of the pace of life of current societies. Only for the latter,
access to the thermal baths would significantly improve the mood of anyone,
increasing their energy and preparing them to face the day to day with more
strength and a positive look.
However,
taking into account that the frequency and duration recommended by specialists
is once a day, for more than a fortnight , it is obvious that it is
not a resource accessible to any person, but a luxury. It is a case
similar to that of the massage sessions, since it deals with treatments with
the potential to improve the lives of people, beyond the strictly medicinal.
