The first definition of cowboy that appears in the dictionary of the Royal Spanish Academy ( RAE ) refers to what is linked to the herdersdedicated to cattle . A cowboy, in this sense, is the one who takes care of and drives the cows. For example: "My grandfather, in his youth, was a cowboy, but then he emigrated to the city" , "We have crossed with four cowboys since we left town" , "Cowboys can walk for hours" .

In each country , cowboys are known by different names, among which are cowboys , charros , gauchos , llaneros or huasos , to name a few possibilities.

In the case of the cowboys, they are typical characters of the American culture . The skillful horsemen who participated in the Civil War and confronted the aborigines are known as cowboys: that is why the films that treat these themes are called cowboy movies or cowboys .

Within the computer animation cinema, the most prominent and memorable character is undoubtedly Commissioner Woody , a cowboy who has starred in the films of the Toy Story saga , and who has also appeared in some short films. His relationship with Buzz Lightyear , his friend, and Andy , his owner, are some of the threads of his stories. Regarding his voice, he has always been in charge of the acclaimed American actor Tom Hanks.

Cowboy is also a type of pants that formerly used by people dedicated to livestock and field tasks. This garment, known in English as jeans , is now widely used in cities .

The hippies also adopted this style of trousers in the 60s, and soon their popularity spread to the lovers of punk rock and heavy metal . There is no other garment that has transcended in time like the cowboys, since at present they are still the preference of the majority of Western people in many of their informal activities.

The jeans that we can buy nowadays are presented in different settings, such as being sharp, slim, tight, boot cut , straight, shiny, cigarette bottom, anti-fit, narrow bottom and low waist.

One of the most popular variations of jeans are the "distressed", that is, those that appear to be worn by the passage of time, even if it is an item that has not been used before. This fashion brought some alterations to the manufacturing process, to simulate the aging of the fiber.
