Film is a term that comes from the Latin pellicŭla and that has different uses. Its most common meaning is linked to the cinematographic work that usually tells a story written or adapted by a screenwriter and whose staging depends on a director.

The film can count on the participation of actors who interpret the different characters in the story or present cartoons through different types of techniques . It is important to bear in mind that the film is the work itself, beyond its format and the place of exhibition (that is, a film can be projected in a movie theater or seen on a television in the home).

At a general level, it can be said that a traditional film is a sequence of photographic images taken by a camera and presented by a cinematographic projector. This device appeals to a speed of image substitution that is higher than 18 frames per second, a feature that allows the human eye to create the illusion of continuity.

In this sense, we must underline that those who are considered parents of the cinema are the French Lumière brothers who in the year 1895 managed to use a camera to record the departure of workers from a factory in the city of Lyon. That would be the beginning of an art that has become an indisputable part of our lives today.

An authentic industry is the one that exists on the films emphasizing especially that the mecca of the cinema is not other than the American Hollywood. A place where some of the most important productions in history have been created and where thousands of actors and actresses have appeared who have become real milestones.

Among those interpreters we could highlight Marilyn Monroe, Bette Davis, Cary Grant, Marlon Brando, Leonardo DiCaprio, George Clooney, Meryl Streep or Susan Sarandon, among many others.

In the case of the most important films in the history of cinema, based on this case in the well-known Oscars, are the following: "Titanic" (1997), "Ben-Hur" (1959), "The Lord of the Rings: the return of the King "(2003)," Gone with the Wind "(1939) or" West side story "(1961).

Nor could we overlook the most relevant filmmakers, those who have allowed us to enjoy great movies today. Among the most significant are Billy Wilder, Steven Spielberg, Woody Allen, Luis Buñuel, Francis Ford Coppola, Charles Chaplin, Orson Welles, Alfred Hitchcock, Clint Eastwood, Federico Fellini, John Ford and George Lucas, among many others.

The film, on the other hand, is the celluloid tape . For example: "I need to buy a film for my camera" , "The film was stored in a very humid place and the images were damaged" .

Film, finally, is a thin layer that covers some things , the thin and delicate skin and the cloth that is used to cover wounds : "The chocolate mouse was rich, but an unpleasant film was formed when it was stored in the refrigerator" .
